Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a good finger’s worth of foamy off white head. Dissipated gently to leave some clingy stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet milk chocolate, gentle Irish coffee creamer, roasted coffee beans and some dark chocolate nibs.
The flavor blended very nice between the roast and the sweet fully encasing all of the aromas together to present a very nice aftertaste (what every oatmeal stout should be going for). Quick roasty to semi-sweet and light bitter finish.
The feel was medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Oatmeal helps smooth out the roast which tried to bring some abrasion to my tongue.
Overall, remember in Indiana Jones movie when Belloq points to the ark of the covenant and says "this, this is history?" Yes, this is what I say, "this, this is the oatmeal stout you all have been looking for. Make your own history and get this beer. chucklemation (1721) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - APR 18, 2015
Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate malt, and flavor is chocolate and traces of sweet vanilla. Has a creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good. chick0320 (3) - Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, USA - FEB 22, 2014 does not count
I’m not usually an oatmeal stout fan, but this is really good on nitro. It has a smooth finish. kevinator (2268) - The Colony, Texas, USA - JAN 25, 2014
Pretty average stuff. It had the typical dark brown stout color with a tan head. The aroma was a slight roasted malts with a little bit of coffee. It had an average weight palate that was a little creamy from the oatmeal. The carbonation was a little low as this was the nitro version. Decent roasted malt flavor with a slight hop bitterness. Easy to drink but not unique. ICEatALAMO (1350) - Troy, Michigan, USA - DEC 22, 2013
On nitro at brewery. The pour is black with a creamy head. The aroma is nice and malty. The taste is creamy and smooth. Not tons of flavor but decent.

On tap at the brewpub...thin, watery black beer. The only hints of hints of coffee and chocolate were in the description. Not good. papsdatank (47) - Michigan, USA - JUL 27, 2011
Pours an extremely dark brown with a tan head, looks pretty good. Smells of roasty malts, bitter chocolate and coffee pretty good but a little restrained. Taste follows the nose, it seems like it could be better again feels a bit restrained. The palate isn’t what I expected, it’s a little thin and watery, they really need to make this thicker, all in all it’s decent, but go with the imperial stout, they really went all out on that one. Sample at the brewpub on 7/23/11. Darkest brown pour with a thick tan head. Roasty aroma to the point of char with some light chocolate notes as well. Roasted malt flavor with chocolate and a burnt coffee finish. LilBeerDoctor (3999) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a thick, foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted, smoked, and charred malt with some parmesean cheese. Flavor of chalky bitter chocolate and a weak malt base. A decent stout but nothing special.
