COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
1945 Berliner Weisse Berliner Weisse is a very pale, sour, refreshing, low-alcohol wheat ale, and regional specialty of Berlin. Berliner Weisse was referred to by Napoleon’s troops in 1809 as "the Champagne of the North" due to its lively and elegant character. Enjoy the tart, refreshing flavor by itself, or try a more traditional German approach by mixing with a shot raspberry, woodruff, or other flavored syrup.

The label says Sour Wheat ale and that it is. I've had sours before but this one will make you pucker. A fair review is difficult since I don't drink many of this type. If "really sour" is a good thing then this beer is an A. I'll always try any type of beer but this one I will respectfully leave on the shelf for someone else to enjoy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber form hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Golden and clear. A small off white head. Active carbonation rises. Aroma is fruity and has some yeast. Smells like a cider. Flavor is wheat with that fruit and yeast. A little paste. Tartness is lower than many of the style and I taste a little tart cherries.

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours clear gold. Tart lemony nose. Light to medium body. Flavor is crisp and lemon but not lemon, and tart and shows wheat and sour cherry. Finishes dry and champaign-like. Good.
