22oz bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam - cellared for a while, and then poured into a snifter on 1-April-2017. Aroma of sweet malt, toffee and pine. Reddish brown in colour with a medium sized beige coloured head which dissipates relatively quickly. Taste of malt, caramel and liquorice. Medium hopped. Thick and syrupy but tasty. A little like a cross between an amber ale and a quadruple.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear red with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel and toast malt with pine and resin hops. Flavor is sweet honey and caramel malt, moderate resin and pine hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium and carbonation. Benzai (16569) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2015
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdrebus. A bit hazy medium to dark red color, average to medium sized off-white head. Aroma is malts, hops, a hint of red fruit and slightly sweaty. Taste malts, hops, again a touch of red fruits, but nicely bitter. You can clearly taste it’s a heavy beer though. Not necessarily a bad thing, but somehow it slightly annoys me with this beer. But then again, it might just be me. Still quite nice. DutchDrebus (6136) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2015
Bottle @ benzai. Brown, copper colour with a small to medium sized beige head. Smells hops, slightly liquorice. Tastes hoppy, malts. Decent beer. Medium body, soft carbo. whoisghost (193) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 3, 2015
Very deep red with hints of rose in the light. Thin off white head. Sweet caramel and toffee malts on the nose, smells great. Big malty flavours, caramel and brown sugar - toffee and crumbly sweet pie base. Slight floral hop bitterness in the backend providing a little bit of balance but this one is all about the malts. Slightly under carbonated with a medium body - not as dense as I’d anticipated for the style.
