Murky brown pour with some light brown malts. Poured well but mouthfeel was lean. Not much to this brown ale but not bad either. BeerFunGuy (875) - California, USA - MAY 26, 2015
Hazy brown light tan colored head aroma of mandarinquats and a hoppy full flavor which is a little smokey. J_man (1022) - Tustin, California, USA - APR 16, 2014
Aromas of wood and chocolate somehow manage to get through the enormous light tan head. The beer didn’t seem excessively carbonated, but the head filled most of the glass on the first pour and it was a thick foam that actually made a floating column after swirling the glass near the end! Slightly hazy and light brown in color. Both milk and bittersweet chocolates come out in the flavor along with some hazelnut and a slight mineral/salt undertone. The body is fairly thin but good for a light brown ale. Root beer notes come out toward the end along with a little earthy/wood bitterness. Finishes light and mostly clean. Bottle from Sprout’s: Poured with the most monstrous sizing of foam head that took so much time to finally reduce and this was each pour. What a pain in the ass just to drink a beer. Liquid was a darker brown than most other brown ales. Aroma is subtle with only a minor scent of toasted malts and chocolate whopper malt balls. The drink brings out more roasty malts than it does toasted toffee and roast nuts flavor, but I like it and it works. This is beefed up brown ale and at an affordable price. Pours medium brown with a tan head and moderate lace. Aromas of toffee, cashews and grassy hops. Flavors were similar, but the nuttiness came on a bit stronger, offset to some extent by a cleansing hop bitterness. Medium body, minimal carbonation, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, and a lingering caramel sweetness in the finish.

Pours a medium dark amber brown color with a short taupe head. Roasted nut nose. Mouthfeel is moderately filling, a touch cottony, with just a bit of carbonation toward the finish. Nutty, lightly chocolaty flavors. Pretty fun beer. radagast83 (8301) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2013
