On tap. Black pour, big tan head. Aroma is cocoa, coffee. The cherries don't really show up until it warms, so definitely not overpowering. Medium body. I'm not getting much of anything off this, although it does have a unique cocoa finish. Like real cocoa mom used to make in a pot, except without the sugar. Slight sour cherry on the finish. It's solid but there's something missing.

bottle shared by thecheeseman: pours a good black colour with a small tan head. aroma is a cocoa powder not much else no cherry. flavour is pretty much cocoa powder and not much else going on for me. the cherry is defently missing the cheery. tjthresh (1873) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - JUN 28, 2008
Bottle provided by csbosox. Pours dark brown with some dark red hues. Brown head that mostly fades. Roast, coffee, molasses, cherry, and cocoa powder in the nose. Pretty chocolaty with light roasted character. Bitter finish with some tartness. Light body. High carbonation. Dry finish that lingers a bit. Interesting enough but not something to get excited about. oakbluff (448) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 4, 2008
Pours quite dark with some garnet in colour. Vanilla looking head with reasonable lacing. Nose- powdered choclate with strong cherry. taste- burnt roast with solid cherry coming through. Dry roast/chocolate finish. The finish is more dry than expected. Carbonation is on the heavy side- would be more drinkable with less fizziness. garthicus (2929) - Dublin, IRELAND - AUG 27, 2008
Appearance: Deep black, slight pancake mix coloured head. Aroma - Cinnamon - cherry pop tart mmm. Flavour - Burnt toast, cinnamon, malt, cherry. Lovely, really nice.

Tasted a sample (150ml) at Volo. I’d agree with the rater who said it was slightly medicinal. Pleasant in a sample, I don’t think I could stomach a full bottle. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - JUN 28, 2008
Sweet lactose, light cherry, roast, maybe a touch of ash. Dark brown color. Taste is roasty, with some light cherry at first and then at the end. Not a lot going on, but nice enough. HomeBrewHawk (464) - De Soto, Kansas, USA - JUN 29, 2008
Thanks to csbosox. Poured a dark black/brown with a hint of red. Thin head. Chocolate with some sour cherry in the aroma. Roasted malt and sweetness to start. Long dry finish with some chocolate malt. More cherry in the nose than the flavor. Slight twang. papat444 (136) - Carignan, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 10, 2017
Appearance: A nice black body with a slight brown 1-2 finger head.
Smell: Malty, dark chocolate.
Taste: A little too carbonated at first taste. Burnt chocolate with very slight cherry. Taste is alright but feels a little bit unbalanced.
Mouthfeel: This is better, carbonation more restrained (or maybe i’m used to it). Roasted malt with dark chocolate overtones with a bitter finish. Cherry in background but not very strong.

Draught. Tasting night with the Brewmaster. Deep cherry coke red with definite chocolate and cherry in the aroma. Taste and body are very thin.. more like a poster then a stout. Very drinkable, but also very sweet. I liked it.. but the balance was off.. too thin and too sweet for me.
