UPDATED: DEC 6, 2011 On Tap at BarVolo. Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of dark malt, syrup and coffee, not too much cherry. flavour is syrup and dark chocolate with muted cherry flavour. somewhat tart. watery mouth-feel. Felt that the cherry flavour was interesting but not all that well integrated. Meanwhile body was pretty light and watery. kevinsenn (2210) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - APR 1, 2012
Bottle from Brewery. Nice roasty chocolate aroma. Roasty chocolate taste with sour cherries. Pretty good. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 11, 2005
Very dark brown with a foamy half inch of tan bubbles. Rich roasted malt and a hint of cherry. Sweet roasted malt flavors mingle with mildly sweet cherry juice. Somewhat like eating a dark black forest cake. Seems quite simple, but no real flaws. Thanks jerc. tomthompson89 (1982) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2007
intresting beer, some head, not alot, dark choc brown, coffee nose, some cherry on aftertaste, intresting flavour mix. Not my fav black oak but still nice. on Cask at Volo decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2008
A dark brown pour with hints of red around the rim. Off white head and lace. Cherries chocolate and sour dominate the nose. Coffee, lite cherries and a medium bitter dominate the flavor. A tad foamy and thin. Drinkable with a decent bitter. pretty good beer.

Dark brown in colour with ruby edges, thin but lingering beige coloured head, good lacing. The aroma had some coffee, chocolate and a very light cherry tartness. The flavour is chocolaty, malty with a light roast, mildly bitter, some black forest cake. Lightly sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, mild carbonation. Finishes with some burnt notes and a chocolate sweetness.JB84 (649) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2011
This was pretty good. The chocolate was definitely more prominent then the cherries.
Draught at Volo in Toronto, Ontario.
