Pours dark brown with a small off white top. Aroma is sweet dark malts and light chocolate. Taste is smooth but a bit thin on body. Small chocolate and sweet belgian candy sugar with a hint of toast. Easy sipper but not terribly complex. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2014
[5492-20130617] Tap. Grainy chocolate dust aroma. Hazy, cola brown body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. More grainy sweet wooden fruit in the flavour. Medium-full body. Tasty, not usually a dubbel fan but this is quite drinkable and balanced. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

On tap at Borealis in kitchener. A nice spicy dark fruity dubble. This is the second best dark Belgian ale I’ve had that was brewed in Ontario. Didn’t see this one coming from black Oak. Nice one. Strangebrewer (1309) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 3, 2014
bottle. Poured dark brown with a creamy mocha head. Aroma of roasty malt with a yeasty note. Medium body with prickly carbonation, mouthfeel is a bit syrupy. Flavour of roasted malt with sweet dark fruit notes, faint tart finish. Alcohol hidden. tomthompson89 (1982) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 30, 2014
Sweet maltyness on the nose. Some candy sugar. Not much foam. Ruby red colour. Flavour is sweet, but almost has a Weiss flavour, some banana.

[Draught at C’est What] Pours a very dark amber-brown with a small long-lasting creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, honey, brown sugar, dark fruit and a good amount of yeast. Sweet malty, yeasty flavour along with a hint of spice, some brown sugar and a bit of alcohol. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good. mathieuc (3995) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2013
Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue. The small offwhite head leaves some lacing. Aroma is made of (light) fruits, (light) candi sugar and light something else (spicy esters). Taste is sweet but not cloying, no perceivable bitterness. Flavors of caramel and raisins. Carbonation is moderate, body a bit too light for my liking. Not bad but not something that would replace the classic belgian dubbels in my yearly diet. Spab (3846) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2013
On tap at C’est What Summer Festival of Craft Breweries. Pours a clear copper colour with lasting off-white head. Aroma is candied sugar, sweet dark fruit and toffee. Flavour is candyish sweet too with sugar, toffee and some plum. Enjoyable. blipp (9284) - La Mesa, California, USA - AUG 26, 2013
