Rating #2190 - 2015.11.20 - Bottle from CBI. Dark brown pour with a weak bubbly tan foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong roast malts, hint of nutty sweetness. Decent body, Taste is bold earthy, light hazelnut, mild roasted coffee bean, mild cocoa, slightly bitter finish that is quite pleasant. Impressive. googleimage83 (172) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 6, 2016
Looks like a watered down porter, kind of scattered head; not all that appetizing. Nose is quite nice, also reminiscent of a porter - brown sugar, sweet coffee, light maple. Taste is still sweet but not as desserty - toasty malts, some sweet caramel, light butter tart note, short and mild grassy hop finish; it’s a nice flavour but it comes across a bit too thin for my tastes. Low carbonation lends a slightly creamy mouthfeel, but mostly just feels flat. Overall, unspectacular but pleasant enough.
