2012-09-18. Hazy orange amber body, small beige head. 3+ Modest aroma has an odd quality to it, almost a smokey fennel-rye like character, but that is not quite it. 6+ Flavour is strange, pleasant fruity undertones, the malt has an odd earthy almost smokey or astringent quality to it? Modest bitterness is pleasant. Gains a bit of fruit quality as it warms up. 6+ Average plus palate is modestly carbonated. 3+ It is not bad per se but sort of strange and not to my taste. [4788-20120918] Tap. Tangerine and lychee mixed with pineapple fruit soap hops aroma has a touch of pepper. Slightly hazy, orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Blood orange peel and rotting grapefruit hops flavour. Medium body is bordering on bitter. Interesting, though unexpected at first. (5/3/5-/3/12) 2.8

Overheard: "It’s like if lychee and pineapple had a baby together." "That sounds like a delicious baby."

On tap at Volo, honey gold color with a small white head, earthy wheat, pale malt, subtle ashen, burnt nose with a faint floral leafy, grassy hop accent, with some light citrus notes in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty fruity citrusy, earthy wheat, pale malt, flowery wet leafy, grassy hop character, with a lemon, grapefruit peel, piney flavour and a herbal spicy undertone, leading towards a faint wet earthy wheat pale maltiness, lingering lemon peel leafy, grassy piney hop bitterness finish.

Cask enjoyed at Bar Volo. Surprisingly decent for the style.More spice taste than wheat. Some funkiness. Cloudy, lacey, above average mouthfeel. Good drinkability.

Draught, Black Oak Tap Takeover at Volo. Sep. 18. Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a small diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of jalapeno skin, wheat, grain a nd a bit of fruit. Flavour again of, oddly, jalapeno skin, wheat, fruit and an average bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Just O.K.
