Dark reddish brown with khaki head. Full bodied, a touch syrupy and warming. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel yeast and booze. Flavor mostly matches. Good not great.

Draft pour schooner at the brewery. Pours a dark reddish copper color with a tan fizz head. Mild dark fruit aroma. Belgian inspired beer as its described, but it tastes as belgian as they get. Complex flavor, with dark fruit, belgian yeast, and rich malt. Very nice combo of flavor going here. Has a plum like fruity finish, and has a finish that shows it’s strength. A bit of a mind blowing beer for me here. Very special brew.

Just had this on tap somewhere and I’ve already forgot where. Hints of plums and toffee all over the nose. Flavors are similar with added elements of milk chocolate and a hint of burnt toast. Decent. Would love to try the BA version.

Draft at EBP. Pours a clear but very dark brown with a dense and creamy light tan head. Fruity nose, lots of sweet caramel and some dark pitted tree fruit. Creamy heavy body with soft slow carb. Dark sweet caramel and dark pitted tree fruit on the mid palate--almost chocolatey in the background, almost like a stout in body and the color is dark enough to hint at stoutiness too. Very nice big heavy one.

Draught at SB. Pours a mostly clear dark brown color with a small tan head on there. Nose is effectively missing from this beer, as I couldn’t even smell it with my nose in the glass. Taste is slightly sweet, with some caramel in there as well as some candied fruit.

Draft at black raven. Dark but fairly clear. No head. Tastes like toasted semisweet chocolate. Pretty good.

Prufrockstar (2132) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - SEP 5, 2013
Draft at Black Raven. Aroma: Dark fruit; like a stronger, fruitier version of their scotch ale. chocolate and leather.

Appearance: Dark ruby brown, clear, no head.

Taste: Dark, sweet fruits; little hop presence; sweet; rich; some alcohol burn, some caramel, some oxidation.

Palate: Syrupy texture; full body, soft carbonation.

Overall: Rich sipper. Interested in trying the bourbon version.

Tap at the brewery. Deep copper pour, limited head. Aroma of scotch and scotch tape. (More like bourbon, really, but I thought myself clever for the phrase). Fairly sweet, entirely drinkable though not a standout in the style.

This one is Nice. Smooth dark Belgian. I'm getting fruity notes, but not overly sweet, and fitting for its deep ruby color. Almost a chocolate aroma, but could be tobacco. Belgian tangy ness comes in a bit later, but sticks around. Some smokiness too -- quite a bit going on; complex! Easy drinking, and not particularly carbonated. Highly recommended! Sampled from bottle purchased at brewery on release day, 2013. A.
