Strong Pale
This Northern France inspired strong pale hybrid has gone through a six month secondary fermentation with the “wild” yeast strain brettanomyces lambicus, then dry hopped in order to meld bright fresh hop aroma and accent with aged wild yeast character. Pear and citrus hops play with tropical fruit, smooth earth, and light hay flavors from the wild yeast. Released annually.

Picked this up at Malt and Vine Pours a crystal gold with a sheet of whites. Smells of pineapple, grain, some hay, some nice amber malt. Good nose. Flavor is grain, cardboard, some funk, some other goods. Medium bodied with moderate carb. Nice beer, but nothing special.

SBF #18 Fajny, dziki saison, średnio ustrzelono styl. Ale nie marudzę! Bretty poszły w pestkową, nieco przyprawową stronę z wyraźnym akcentem białego grona. Perliste, lekkie, wyraźnie owocowe, leciutko stajenne. Smakowało!

ACHops (1584) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 4, 2016
On tap @ Black Raven. Pours clear bright dark orange with next to no head, super thin white lacing. Aroma is crisp fresh melon and dark lemon, dry earthy oaky notes with substantial yeasty farmhouse funk. Taste is clean, light pale malt up front, earthy super dry finish, just a hint of that yeasty finish so evident in the nose. No sourness from the Brett, but a clean pleasant dryness that really allows this beer to shine. Great beer.

Tight white head that lasts, skimpy lace. Clear, blonde color, tiny bubbles rising. Nose is a touch tart, woody, earthy and spicy. Body is light with nice carbo level. Dry malts, dusty and woody, love wood, hint astringent, light blanket and must, strawberry. Dry finish is tangy with a little fruit. Decent stuff. Bottle from beastiefan, thanks Eugene!

furthur (1186) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - MAR 3, 2016
2015 bottle, clear amber beer, white head faded. Aroma malt, kombucha, citrus, pineapple. Taste is black pepper, lychee, oak, kombucha, pears, salt, grapefruit, resin. Palate is light, carbonation moderate. Finish is tannic oak and resin, and is out of balance with the rest of the beer. If this had just a bit less oak it would be outrageous.
