Brown cola pour, light tan head. Roasty aroma with a weird hotdog thing in there. Chewy dark grain, almost rye-like. Gentle sweetness early, gentle roastiness late. Very tasty beer.A bit too aggressively carbonated.
Draft at fiddlers. Pours mahogany with creamy head, some lacing. Toast, nuts, some caramel and grass. Roasty, almost ashy finish mixed with caramel. Cola, roast, and nuts -- like, if I was smoking and eating walnuts by the handful and washing it down with cola I imagined it’d remind me of this. Some sulfer. Light to medium body, creamy texture. andrewje41 (4521) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - APR 5, 2014
Draft pour. This beer is pretty bitter overall. Not an attractive aroma. Some decent roasted flavor, but its short. Not really for me. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAR 25, 2014
Draft at ebp. Pours jet black with a dense and creamy tan head. Light cola and roasty walnut shell nose. Creamy medium body, very effervescent carb. Flavors are more intense than the nose. Cola and walnut, but more forceful and forward. Long roasty dry finish.

Bottle:   That sure is black, moderate to large frothy head, tannish, very nice lacing.   Soft toasty nose, straw/hay on the background.   Not as black or roasty as others, but thats okay.   The color is deceiving as I expected a bunch more roastiness on the tongue, but its very mellow, toasty at best.   Otherwise clean straw/hay, much like a Pilsener.   Very smooth on the tongue, a bit heavtier than a lot of other Schwarbiers.   Soft toasted grassy finish.   Decent beer, but I do wished it was a little more "black" in flavor.   Smidgen more roastiness would do it some good.   As is, enjoyable. bhensonb (15968) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Bomber from Malt and Vine. ABV 5.9%. Pours very dark brown with a creamy beige/tan head. Aroma is a little chocolate over smooth burnt malt. About med body. Flavor is smooth, very smooth, burnt malt with chocolate. Can’t pin down a particular hop characteristic - if pressed I’d choose grass - but the finish is dry, mildly astringent, and bitter. Drinks very well. It is a nice break from all the ISs out there. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 8, 2011
Black, off-white head. Roast and grassy, herby, slightly earthy hops on the nose, reminds me a touch of damp autumn leaves. Tastes a little nutty, roasty with very light levels of char, more of that grassy hop finish. Light, very drinkable body, but not watery. Perfect beer for autumn. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - OCT 22, 2011
Crowbar "Lasting Dose" - fucking rad. Nose is somewhat subdued, lightly roasty and grassy with some nutty notes a little dank. Pours dark brown, soft tan head. Flavors of lightly roasted malts, sweet grasysy hops and a little dank. Well done, just somewhat dubdued and not overly assertive. Smooth, drinkable, refreshing. Fuck yeah.
