Tap. Sparkling hazy gold with lots of bubbles, a nice head and good lace. The nose is full of bananas, sugars, and some spice. SOft banana notes, esters, spice, sweet sugars, and grainy malts all make an appearance. A touch of peppery hops in the finish as well as light alcohol burn.

Bottle shared by ucusty. This was a weird beer. Those are the only notes I took. See ucusty, JCB, durhambeer, and emacgee’s ratings for more info. Bottle looked pretty cool though.

Thanks to RiversideAK for the bottle! Bright, hazy gold pour with a thin off white head. Leather and bubble gum on the nose. Flavor is dominated by spice (white pepper and clove), banana, and caramel.

JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - SEP 2, 2009
I fear lengthy Dutch names, but thanks to ucusty for sharing this one. Hazy golden pour, thinnish looking with minimal carbonation. Somehow I didn’t expect such a dank, smokey aroma from a beer so golden. Thin body, heavily phenolic flavors with a dry, pepper finish. Weird, disjointed, not so hot.

durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - SEP 1, 2009
Awesome looking bottle, suggesting some rare Belgian treat... unexpected all around. Pours hazy golden with small white head. Lots of banana, some clove, slight leather. A little syrupy and cloying. Mild smoke. Bummer.

emacgee (4697) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - SEP 1, 2009
Shared by ucusty. Pours a soft pale yellow with a one finger offwhite head. The nose is mildly spicy, some isoamyl acetate, clove, some oxidation. The flavor is oxidized astringent, bitter, lacks much flavor. Palate is astringent.

snakeoilpete (324) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 7, 2009
On tap at Washington Brewers’ Fest 2009. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Nutty, funky, spicy nose. Taste adds honey and caramel. Smooth, rich, and tasty.

Crit (4039) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 25, 2009
Hazy gold, small beige head. Lightly spicy yeasty nose. Very spicy palate with bubblegum overtones and quite sweet

scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - JUN 25, 2009
Vibrant bright gold, beefy thick white head. Peppery bubblegum aroma. I wouldn’t like pepper bubblegum but in this case it’s inviting. Half strong golden, half tripel. The candied sweetness is balanced and tempered with dry white pepper.

bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - JUN 21, 2009
On tap. Pours clear dark gold with a thin rocky white head. Medium body and light carbonation. Loads of spice and some fruit in the aroma. Soft cotton candy and fruit taste. A little heavy on the spice but still nice.
