What a twang! Heavy on the hops, but asides from that, is a fairly typical British ale. Could be very tasty if it had a bit more power being the hop dryness, but asides from that it is quite watery and weak tasting. Not bad, not good. Bottle from Tesco. Bottle at home. Many of these drunk in the past, but the first time to review a bottle. Poured nicely with a lasting head and lacing and an appealing colour in the tankard. Not much of an aroma, but I served it too cold. The taste was all about those lovely bitter hops that cut across the palate and left the taste buds jangling. There was length to the bitterness too and this was backed up by the malts. Very English in its bitterness and it would probably frighten those who like a sweet beer. I forgot how lovely this is. groovy123 (1) - - OCT 29, 2017 does not count

This pours from 16.9oz bottle a cloudy light gold with a huge head of foam that settles down but it hangs around for the entire session as a solid 2 finger layer. A very attractive brew in my glass.
The smell is all malty and fruity and nice.
The taste is a good mix of sweet malt and fruit and I'm talking pear. A few more sips in and I get some roasted malt and some hoppiness that shows up as lemon tang that dominates mostly near and through the finish. Plenty of flavour here and at its low abv, this is one heck of a session brew.
Bottom line: Here's a session Ale that really hits well on all marks and I can *only* recommend it. Very good stuff!!
Bottle in Bermuda. Aroma is mild malt and caramel. Clear orange copper with retained tan head. Taste is a little too much retained sugar, but malt there as well though not balanced. Slight orange late on.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2017 500ml from bottle bought at Tesco. Good English bitter, dry and mouthful, and particularly malty. However, highly forgettable. Jabic (713) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - SEP 23, 2017
Ar: Crispy, biscuity malt; hay and lemon; red apples and preserved pineapples; marmalade; dry toast. Ap: Deep amber and hazy; medium-small off-white head with moderate retention, leaves an uneven landscape of silky suds and tall, lanky chunks of lacing on the glass sides. T: Dried and toasty malt, very crackery; low sweetness; hop flavor of black pepper and licorice; bitterness is medium-high and edgy; apple skins, black tea, dried pineapple, and chalk on the finish. P: Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation; finish is very dry. O: A crisp and fresh bitter; prominent malt character without any real sweetness; hops are showcased but never quite overwhelm the malt (it gets close sometimes, though); fresh and bright--a welcomed surprise when drinking imports in the US.
