Bottle Asda. Pale gold, thin white patchy head, leaves some lacework. Nice citrus hop nose, well hopped palate, some slightly sweet malt there as well. Lingering finish. Tasty brew, tho not the best from Black Sheep, could perhaps do with an extra 1% ABV??

Botella de 50 cl adquirida en Lidl. Color amarillo oro, espuma blanca fina. Aromas poco intensos, hierba y malta. Sabor suave, poco amargo, una bitter demasiado plana.

Excalibur123 (488) - Soria, SPAIN - JUN 19, 2017

Bottled 500ml. -from local Lidl Zagreb. Dark golden coloured, small white head, mild grainy nose. Sweetish malty, light caramel, slightly bready and herbal hoppy with touch of fruits. Light bitterness in the finish. Drinkable.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear copper pour, two finger white head. Ok retention and lacing. A bit harsh on the nose. Dusty, cardboard. Herbal notes eventually coming through. Thin and watery. Pretty high on the carbonation. Taste is quite bitter, a bit unpleasant with lots of metallic notes. Mouthfeel quite dry and a bit peppery. Aroma is generic. Malty, grainy, herbal. Dusty. Some earthy hops. Metal. Rusty. Peppery. Unpleasant aftertaste, metallic and bitter. Dry finish. Overall, this was quite poor. Mediocre and generic, nothing to write home about here. Meh.

From Lidl. In Ikea’s pint glass. After dinner. Strong grassy bitterness with lemon notes and dry end. Crisp and refreshing. More a golden ale. Reminds me Cruzcampo but better implemented and fresher

50 cl. bottle @ Home. Aroma: not very intense aromas of malts, caramel, bread crust. No hints of hops aromas. Hints of toasted and caramel malts in the background. Appearance: bright golden color with perfectly white and creamy head made of assorted sized bubbles with mainly medium to high size. High head height. Medium retention. Cristal clear. Low to medium Brussels’ lacing. Taste: low to medium sweetness, medium to high bitterness, no sourness. Flavors of malts, toasted malts, light caramel, bread crust, biscuit, grains, very light citrusy, grapefruity and floral overtones. Balance is toward the bitterness, specially at the end. Palate: light to medium body, watery to oily texture, medium carbonation, bitter dry finish. The beer is a little sweet at the beginning, but it turns increasingly bitter as it lingers in the tongue and palate. Not very intense flavors of malts, some caramel, candy sugar, bread crust. Citrus zest and some metallic overtones. Overall: excellent appearance, not very intense pleasant aromas. Flavor is not bad. Quite dry and bitter. A little boring and monodimensional, but quite decent beer. It remembers me in some way the 1906 from Estrella Galicia.

Perfectly reasonable golden ale (as I’d class it) from the local supermarket. Clear amber with a thin white head. Light bready malt and citrus on the nose. Medium to light, slight viscous body. Tastes lacks depth but drinkable enough.
