Wow. Very close to being the perfect cask bitter. Dark, malty, complex and satisfyingly thick without being cloying, yet very rrefreshing and all at 3.8%! A stunning beer.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2014 You know what you’re getting with this classic best bitter. Nice flavours of toasty malt balanced with a touch of spice from the hops. Refreshing and drinkable, but ultimately a bit dull.

(Cask). The smell is nonexistent. Thin and watery taste of hops and malt. Sour and dull bitterness in the finish. Avoid this beer!

ManVsBeer (10973) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2013 Cask @ The White Swan in Hebden Bridge where the pump clip is different - specifically celebrating Elizabeth Wood’s 30 years as landlady at this pub. The ale is bright copper coloured with a thick smooth head. It has a mild malt running through its aroma and taste with some grain evident too.
