ALLOVATE (2992) - Perth, - DEC 15, 2011
Big, frothy, lasting off-white crown atop a finely beaded, orange tinged copper body that has just a little haze to it. Nice zesty, floral notes on the nose with hints of fresh baked white bread, caramel and sticky marmalade. Frothy, foamy mouthfeel. Relatively light bodied and subdued for flavour. Bitter orange and floral hop notes in back. Short, floral and mildly plasticy swallow that has just a hint more orange and pine wood. Very subtle toasted malt front. The fermentation gives it a typified Black Sheep nuance that I cant quite pin point. Becomes more and more citrussy as it goes, with a quenching dryness to the finish. Not bad, just didnt excite me the way good bitters do!. (50cL, BB 28/02/12, Thirsty Camel, Butler)
