Sunshine in a glass, a citrus packed Blonde Ale. Golden Sheep is a gloriously refreshing, beautifully balanced, golden cask ale, perfect thirst quencher! Following the success of Golden Sheep in bottle form, which was originally brewed for the Tesco Finest range, plus the growing demand from for lighter golden beers, our brewers created the perfect response - Golden Sheep in cask. Our brewers fine-tuned the original bottle recipe to make it lighter and hoppier, the result being a superbly quaffable golden ale. As you would expect, we make it using time honoured methods and ferment Golden Sheep in our traditional Yorkshire Square Vessels for a characteristically dry, refreshingly clean finish. Golden Sheep’s popularity ensured that it soon became the fourth permanent cask beer in our core range.

Better than a basic ale, but not very special. Some sweet and citrus tones, but also a bit watery.

Very fruity and hoppy aroma. Really delicious hoppy taste. Really glad I found this one. Top banana! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at The Woodman, Durham, £3.30/pint.

Enjoyable blonde with more going on that a lot of other beers in the style. Citrus undertones to a biscuity malt base and a crisp, crunchy bitter finish.

kajser27 (2065) - Zagreb, CROATIA - OCT 20, 2015
Golden colored, medium white head. Aroma is malt, biscuit, floral, hay grassy hops. Taste is low to medium sweet caramalt, biscuit, light fruity notes, some citrus, low+ floral and lemongrassy bitterness, dryish. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation. Compared to the standard Black Sheep, this one appeared lighter and less bitter but with more/fresh hop aroma.

Beautiful honey in the aroma. Taste too. Classic bitter. Great drinkability. Soft palate, carbonation low. Refreshing. Nice little bitter bite at the end. Lovely characterful golden ale.

Cask in the Three Fiddles, Guisborough. A golden ale with a white head. Quite sharp citrus flavour. I strongly suspect this was a little past its best. Drinkable, but not very enjoyable. I’m sure.I’ll have another opportunity to try it again, but i doubt it will be much better.

erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - APR 21, 2015
Golden light hazy. Very moderate aroma, herbal hops, sweet pale malts. Taste is more expressive, more so than expected for the brewer and style. Nice bitterness. Good brew actually! (Cask at Leeds airport bar)
