BlackHaddock (8073) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2015
6th Feb 2015: shared bottle at the 3rd Annual beer exchange in De Bierboom (Brugge). Almost jet black in looks, the head a tanned foam blanket. Deep roasted malty nose and taste, liquorice notes to the fore. Semi-sweet initially fading to a drier, bitter finish. Decent and easy to drink, even at 8.5% ABV.

MrBlueSky93 (535) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2015
Bottle from Curious Hop. Pours dark brown/black, 2 finger head even in a damp glass. Aroma of Berries, dark fruits, licquorice. On the taste initial smokiness, then carbonation, then dark fruits, winter berries, hit on the abv, coffee and a finish of licqourice. Rate it!

Beerhunter111 (23757) - Beerland, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2015
Dunkel rötlichbraune Farbe, ordentliche bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch stark nach Malzbonbons, viel Karamell, etwas Vanille, alkoholisch. Geschmack kräftig malzig, Rübensirup, Kaffee, leicht holzig, leicht alkoholisch.

Mjp12 (2149) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2015
Decent liquorice aroma and flavour, great black colour, just needs something extra on the finish to make it great.

Stuu666 (15525) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 10, 2015

Overheard: "Did we kill Wayne?" "No, he’s death-pooping."

teorn88 (8066) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 23, 2014
Cask at Kings Arms, London. It pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma is medium sweet and roasted, with notes of dark fruits, coffee, ashy wood. Taste is similarly medium sweet and medium roasty, lightly ashy, dry, with notes of espresso, figs and cocoa powder. Medium bodied with creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Overall, tasty

olio (10750) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 22, 2014
33 cl bottle.
Pours clear dark ruby color with a small off-white head. Sweet caramel and honey notes on the aroma, nuts and hops, some syrup, mild chocolate. Way too thin for an IS, caramel malts, some juicy fruity notes, resin, syrup and mild wood. A bit too "English" for my taste.

laiti (8536) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 22, 2014
33 cl bottle @ olio, BBE 28.03.2015
Aroma has toffee, licorice and hayish notes. Flavour has toffee, strong British hops, some grapefruit, licorice and grassy tones. Feels thin for IS. Very British.

jercraigs (11166) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 17, 2014
2014-12-06. Black body with a modest tan head. 3++ Aroma is interesting, lightly fruity dark malt. Flavour is similar, dryish lightly tangy dark malt. English yeasty quality. Average to light bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3+ Decent, a bit light for the style overall. Bottle shared by DuctTape.
