3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Even as you know you want to try it for the name alone, something in the back of your mind says this could be another 3 Stooges Panther Pilsner. But no, instead a pretty nice bitter. Maybe a little carbonated to please American tastes, but that's the only consession it seems to make. Bitter is not a style I've had a lot of experience in, but I'll suspect this is somewhat middling against the well done ones. Good light brown color and maltiness, slight fruitiness. Just fun to bring out. And I found at the Whole Food Market in Chicago (so it may not have traveled as well as it might.

0.5 bottle @ Davies Court
Gold with a small head. Aroma of malts, fruits, and DMS, as well as some flowers and perhaps English hops. Taste is sweet, malty, typical English ale. Medium, slick, lively. Finish introduces nothing new. Overall, mediocre.
Love the film.... not the beer, bit of a nothing to be honest, not a lot of smell or taste
Disappointment but not nasty

Poured from bottle(room temp) a medium gold with a huge head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving s solid layer that lasted throughout the session.
The smell is of sweet malt and some faint fruitness.
The taste up front was a malt sweetness, almost honey like but shortly after, the bitterness from the hops come in and pretty much took over but that's temporary as well as the finish, imo, is a very nice balance between the 2 tastes . Yum...what a nice session brew!
Bottom line: Here's another session English Ale that delivers nicely in the taste department. I'll certainly buy this again. Grumbo (4293) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - SEP 13, 2017
