Cask by handpump at NWAF ’13, half pint shared by Finn. Deep, mahogany coloured body. Spotty lacework. Roasted caramel malts to the nose. Dark caramel taste added by notes of chocolate and mixed with marmalade. Mid-dry, dark bitter finish. Well bodied. Pleasing (Manchester, 23.01.2013).

Cask, festive ale, 1/2 pint, hand-pulled at Hengler’s Circus, Glasgow on 5 Dec 2016, roast malt, toffee aroma, deep amber brown with a thin bubbly cream head and sparse lacing, raiusin toffee flavour, creamy, oily, sweet toffee finish. rumore (877) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 3, 2016

Cask at the White Swan, Solihull. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy off white head. The aroma is malt, light citrus, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light smooth, woody resin hop, light fruit, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as ’Black Sheep Riggwelter’. Dark brown with a ruby hue to the light, foamy beige head leaves very full lacing. Aroma is airy even as it drains. Get some chemical later on, some glue. Body is a touch frothy with soft carbonation. Taste is toasted teacake, toast, black pepper, prunes, glue, rum-like booze, salty finish with some liquorice stick. Burnt astringency with a lasting tang. Taste comprises fruit cake, bread, sweet malt base, toffee, Lardy cake, toasted grains.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, hint of booze in the close.

Appearance - deep amber to brown with a lovely fawn coloured head.
Nose - liquorice dark chocolate and biscuits. Nuts and honeycomb too.
Taste - liquorice and molasses. Still biscuits at the back.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish.
