Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish pour with thin white head, aroma was a big diacetyl bomb, lots of butter, hints of slight grass and caramel come through but it was pretty overtaken. Taste was a mix of slight grass, grain, some caramel before it goes right into the big diacetyl, finishing bitter. onceblind (10011) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Hazy medium-dark amber with a medium foamy and laceful light beige head. Nose is exactly what I’ve always wanted from red IPAs--lots of floral/dank leafy resinous hops with loads of crystal and caramel malts with the lightest kiss of nougat. Flavor is big with lots of hops and loads of malts, like the aroma, and equally balanced. It starts with leafy earthy hops with medium-strong bitterness, not much acidity though there’s a little grapefruit in there--with a backing load of caramel and toast and crystal malts to support it all. Nice piney and tangerine finish that’s also a bit leafy and not too bitter. wchesser (2110) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 14, 2013
Pitney hops and resin with some malt. Cloudy Amber. Good, hop driven. Personally prefer more malt. theisti (4156) - Kansas, USA - APR 25, 2013
Listed as the 2013 Red IPA on the menu. Half pour at the brewery in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a lightly hazed red golden with a small white head. The aroma is citrus resin, fresh, balanced against a soft tasted malt grain. The taste is the fresh hop right up front, and carrying the flavor throughout. Citrus and resin. The malt is present to balance a bit, though is certainly in the back seat to the hops. The palate is medium to light bodied, soft natural carbonation, and a resin dry earth finish. Nice one. On tap at Black Shirt poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, fruittiness, lemon zest and light pine. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, pink grapefruit, earthiness and light pine with a smooth dry lingering earthy finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear copper with a frothy cream head an great lacing. Floral/grassy aroma, honey, bread, citrus, light grapefruit, and straw. Taste is very floral, somewhat soapy, honeycomb, a touch waxy, fruity, and doughy with a medium bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Very clean and delicate much like their pale with a more pronounced bitter bite. Tasty stuff. notalush (5895) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - JAN 10, 2013
Tap at Black Shirt - lightly hazy pale red - aroma is floral, spicy/peppery, with a light bit of malt sweetness - flavor is light and crisp - lean, clean maltiness provides a base for peppery, herbal and floral hops - light fruitiness on the tail end - simple, clean, tasty.
