Good Lager. Nice aroma and appearance. Flavor is nice as well. Goes down smooth. bpreo (2849) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - AUG 23, 2010
I am pleasantly surprised, this is a fine Pale Lager. Better than any Bud, or Miller, or Coors, or Corona, or, etc. Those are Pale Lagers, right? degbert (1774) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 7, 2015
Draft. Pours a dark gold with a high, fine-grained head. Nose is sweet and clean, with definite baking-bread notes. Sweeter than most lagers, but with a bright fruitiness that keeps it fresh under the hops bitterness. Finishes very crisp, and drinks quickly. Really good. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 30, 2001
I’ve got to thank my good friend todd for letting me experience one of the finest brews in the land. Actually this stuff was pretty average, but still a solid beer which i would have again. tomciccateri (1034) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - APR 22, 2011
Bottle in San Diego at Brian’s 24.. clean, reasonable malt flavor, supporting hops. Not too bad.

Great mellow lager flavor (meaning not that strong), yet has character hidden in it. "Full bodied".VERY light banana undertones. Braudog (6763) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle. Golden copper, with a standard lager eye appeal. Drinks with a full body, well rounded malt character, with a nice subtle hop kiss to finish. All American lagers should be this way. (#4760, 8/5/2012) Darkmagus82 (2302) - - SEP 14, 2014

Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden color with a two finger white head that fades relatively rapidly with tons of carbonation bubbles seen streaming through the brew. As the head fades over time only a lighter level of lace is left on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is of a light graininess mixed with some biscuit and lighter fruit smells. Along with these aromas is a lighter corn smell giving the beer an overall light but sweet odor.
Taste – The taste begins with a light malt taste mixed with some caramel and a bit of corn. As the flavor advances some fruity tastes as well as a light hop of a grassy taste comes to the tongue. These flavors take the taste to its end, leaving a crisp sweet and bready flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer was on the slightly thinner to average side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that was on the slightly higher side. Both made it a rather more refreshing beer and were quite appropriate for the style.
Overall- Refreshing and rather easy drinking but nothing out of this world. A good brew for a hot day while just sitting around with friends chatting. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2011
From the Can at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 17/09/2010 As Black Star Lager
Floral aroma. Golden coloured smooth on the palate hoppy and floral with a hint of dryness in a fruity malt finish. Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUL 1, 2012
12oz bottle pours clear gold with near white head. The aroma offers up lagery notes, grainy malts and sugary sweet maltiness. The taste has plenty of firm grainy malts and sweet malts and then it rolls into sugary sweet lagery yeastiness as well as faint spicy hops. They claim on the label all the extra hopping they put into this yet I’m not really smelling or tasting much of any hoppiness. What?
