750 ml. bottled 11/30/2016. Lightly foggy orange-gold with some turbulent bubble action rising to a loose disc of beady bubbles. Aroma of resin, spicy yeast, honey with the comb and beeswax. Touches of lemon dish soap, banana and apple. Tastes of earthy honey, spicy pie crust, scuppernong skins and a bit of oxidized apple. Resin, grass and a hint of banana in the long finish. Bottle at Brewvival. Pours cloudy yellow with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy farmhouse yeast, peach esters with cracker and wheat malt. Flavor is farmhouse yeast, cracker malt, peach esters, earthy hops and light bitterness with a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation.

It pours lightly hazy orange with a white head. The aroma has stone fruits, smooth toasted malt, yeast somewhere between Abbey and saison and a richness I donít associate with the style. It has a fairly full body with soft light carbonation. The taste is like the aroma with some herbal aspects and full malt. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of banana, gum, candy sugar, pineapple, alcohol (slightly fusel).
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Iím quite surprised at how generic and Americanized this is, itís virtually a banana bomb. And fairly sweet and flabby without enough to balance. So not much fun to smell or drink...a little pineapple hint helps, but thatís about all thatís alluring in the nose. I didnít really expect to love this one, but I dunno, I hoped it might be something that veered towards a Tripel, but itís just a sugary generic Belgian strong ale. Definitely ainít no saison IMHO. I love this brewery, but alas, I donít love this beer.
