Leightons 20K at his posh new gaff! Thanks to Fergus. Hazy gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy floralness, bretty undertone. Floral bitterness. Something a little skewed. Airy dry finish. Not doing much for me.

St Davids Day 2017 - Bottle share at Leightons 20K. Many congrats! As Blackberry Farm Cellar Reserve Brettanomyces Saison. Big thanks to Fergus for this one. Pours dark orange, almost opaque, huge foamy off-white head leaves thick lacing. Aroma is quite heady and herbal couldnt quite place it had me thinking of sage and bay leaf, stuffing. Also chalky. Body is light and thin, frothy with tingly+ carbonation. Taste is quite spicy, chalk and bonbons with icing sugar, rounded sugars with more spice into the finish. Quite interesting. Touch washed out by carbonation. (3.5)

75cl bottle shared at Leightons Penthouse for his 20K. Special thanks to Fergus for this beer. It pours a hazed golden apricot color with a large off white head. Aroma is funky and dry with notes of straw and grass. Taste is weird dry with notes of seaweed and sea slugs. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, indecent

Bottle shared in London at the 20k - cheers to Fergus. Pours clearish orange with a billowing, creamy white head. Some doughy wheat in the nose, ripe tangerine, pale bread. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of white grape, tangerine, lemon meringue, pale grains. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish with more doughy wheat bread, citrus, meringue, tangerine, mellow hitter hay. Not bad overall.

Bottle, 75cl corked. An unclear orange-golden beer with a white head of moderate size. Fruity, grainy and chalky aroma with some spice hints and hints of canned peaches. The flavor is peachy and lightly yeasty, with a faint grainy maltyness in the back. Pleasant bitterness too. Its full to medium bodied, with a bit too much carbonation. Quite dry. Lasting fruity finish. A bit ordinary this one. 170128

750ml batch 1, with a careful pour is brilliantly clear sparkling amber with a sustained, patchy white head, while the bottle continues to slowly "gush" after being set aside. First impression of the nose is extremely sharp phenols, like stinging the nose, with notes of clay, rubber, cork, pickle, basement, and engine grime :( Strangely gueuze-like, especially the clay note. And only mildly fruity (orange, apricot), Im sad to say. It takes some time for the malt to show itself, coming across as hay and toast with some fall leaf touches, but also a bit starchy and stale, powdery and faded. Takes even longer for aroma hops to emerge, which manifest as lemon, apricot, and herb, and they play well with the fruit and spice notes of the brett strain, which seems understated and muted. In the mouth its medium-light bodied and sweet with zesty, prickly carbonation and acidity, finishing slightly sour with notes of white grape and apple. Doesnt seem at all like what Jeff and Ernest describe earlier in the year, the nose has trouble getting much past the green and metallic phenol, and I dare to say it even smells oxidized, which shouldnt be the case with continuous bottle brett fermentation, but there it is...
