Level 42 bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton. Hazy apricot colour beer, good pale apricot colour head. Airy palate, very fluffy and with reasonable fine carbonation. Floral sweetness into generic fruits. Mildly herby citrussy basil. Floral fruits. Light dry finish. Entertaining.

75cl bottle shared at Level 42. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. It pours a hazed pale rose color with a large white head. Aroma is fruity and grassy with notes of basil and raspberry and light funk and grains. Taste is also dry and grassy with notes of basil and raspberry, with some boozy warming finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, quite nice

Bottle share at Canary Wharf as Blackberry Farm Cellar Reserve Plum & Basil Saison, 6.3%. Hazy vibrant orange, opaque, foamy off-white head, full lacing, some heavy sediment. Aroma is blackcurrant squash, basil, plum, spearmint. Body is light, frothy, tingly carbonation. Taste is airy, some gin and tonic, mixed herbs, spearmint, sugary, dental rinse, some clove. Weird.

Leighton (20594) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2017
Bottle shared in London - sourced from Beergium. Light gusher. Pours mostly clear orange-gold, effervescent, with mild sediment and a creamy, white head. Some herbal notes in the nose, berries, citrus, wheat bread. Light sweet flavour with faint citric bite, impressions of plum, tangerine, straw. Light bodied, creamy, with massaging carbonation. Finishes with some rindy bitterness, more tangerine, some meringue, lemon peel. Fun stuff.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at level 42. Bit of a gusher. It pours cloudy pinkish orange with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is rich, funky, farmyard, manure, dirt, basil, pesto, pizza, plum skin and lemon sherbet. The taste is crisp, slightly tart, savoury, basil, pesto, plum skin, savoury, bready, farmyard, manure, lemon, apple, alcohol heat and candy with a dry, boozy finish. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Quite a lot of pesto... good fun anyhow.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2017 Batch 4 is a fucking bottle bomb now, it sprayed my entire room, thanks kindly for the sticky mess Blackberry Farm, your yeast is fucked up, but I cant say it doesnt make the place more fragrant. Veeeery attractive potpourri and fruit effects from the yeast and adjuncts. Qualities of lemon, peppercorn, cantaloupe, lavender. I dont get any brett - nothing funky, no band aid/plastic, nothing unnaturally fruity... the label doesnt say brett either, while the three other Cellar Reserve labels do mention it. It seems the original batch was *aged* on plum and basil and fermented with brett, while this one is *blended* with plum and basil. To my nose this is straight up the same sacc strain used in the Classic Saison. Silky carbonation, juicy sweetness, creamy mouth feel, the texture is a marvel. Never trust a fart, and never trust an aged Blackberry Farm bottle. Open it outside if you can.

W aromacie świetne połączenie fenoli i śliwki, lekko pikantnie, pieprznie, przyprawowo, ziemiście i owocowo zarazem. Bazylii nie stwierdzono, być może podkręca przyprawowość. W smaku wytrawne, śliwkowo soczyste, nutki ciemnych owocw w jasnym, przyprawowo zorientowanym saisonie. Nieco zbyt wysoko wysycone, lepiej odgazować. Nic olśniewającego, ale bardzo przyjemna piwna niespodzianka.
