This is a Belgian-style farmhouse ale. The aroma is dominated by fruity esters reminiscent of citrus fruits along with a moderate earthy and floral hop aroma from the use of Noble-type hops in the brewing process. Has a deep gold, hue that is often hazy, and a voluminous head on pouring as a result of the bottle-conditioning and high natural carbonation. The beer is medium-bodied and has a very refreshing effervescence which, along with a fairly low alcohol content, makes this a beer to be enjoyed on a warm day by itself or with a wide range of foods, whether casual or fine dining. Complex flavors and aromas in this beer are a result of the special yeast used in fermentation combined with the additional complexity added by bottle-conditioning in large bottles for at least six weeks before being released.

Keg at CP&K. It pours lightly hazy amber with thick off - white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, bready, cake, muffin, floral, gingerbread, pepper and cereal. The taste is dry, bitter, bit funky, farmyard, wood, bready maltage, earth, resin, orange peel, floral action and spice with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate - high carbonation. Pretty well - rounded. A hearty saison.

Tap @Targowa, Wrocław. Medium, white, creamy head, very dense. Yellow golden colour, lightly cloudy, nice lacing. Aroma: grass, herbs, horse blanket. Taste: medium sour with lightly bitter aftertaste. Full body, lively, long finish. Pretty nice and refreshing.

My Bottom Line:
Herb-laden bananas, fresh bread and juicy pears whirl about this elegant Saison, forging the epitome of complexity within drinkability.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam covers the mostly whitish yellow.
-Authenticity is through the roof, as seems to be the case in most Blackberry Farm Saisons.
-A touch of lemon zest is found as well.
-Mouthfeel is dryish, with expansive natural carbonation.
-White pepper also colors the flavour profile.
-This is like Flacatoune with Saison yeast and a touch more hops.

Hazy gold. Nose of standard saison yeast, spice, and mild citrus. Flavor is mildly sweet with yeast, spice, and citrus. Only moderately dry finish. Well-carbed. Straightforward, lack of complexity.

Very pale golden, clear pour with thick, white persistent foam. Floral esters in the nose with some faint touches of citrus, pepper, and dry champagne. Faint malt sweetness balanced by the dryness. Medium / light body with lots of sharp carbonation and a dry finish. Unusual vinous and acidic notes along with some brine, perhaps from the yeast. The mustiness and hay are muted at first but emerge as it warms. Seems to lack the mineral flavors of other saisons. Notably dry. An excellent example.

Bottle from Old Town. Pours a deep gold with a bit of cloudiness and a huge 2 finger, rocky head that lingers. Tons of funk, hay, musty cobwebs, and horse blanket. Active carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Lemon tartness, more hay on the palate. Almost like an Orval in some ways. Lingering musty lemon zest and hay on the finish. Great stuff from BF and Ill be looking for more of their beers.

750ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average to huge, fluffy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, snow-white head. Peppery and herbal spicy, yeasty aroma, notes of brine, white pepper, mustard seed, underlying, cautious hints of apricot and peach, a (white) vinous touch, hints of grapes. Taste is dry hoppy, slightly tart, tangy, slightly fruity, subtle residual sweetness with a sugar powder touch, notes of brine, mustard seed, white pepper, apricot, peach, mirabelle, some citrus, a (white) vinous touch of grapes and silica; refreshing, lively carbonation. Wonderfully balanced, rich and manifold - superb!

Golden with medium white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Strong hoppy bitterness with old fruits notes on the background. Nice! Slight bitter lasting aftertaste.
