COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This offering in our Native Series was brewed with select heritage barley and rye malts and fermented with a wild strain of native yeast harvested from honeysuckle blossoms found on Blackberry Farm’s 9,200 acre estate. A secondary fermentation with blackberries followed by additional aging in Tennessee whiskey barrels lends notes of dark fruit and oak to this medium bodied ale’s malt profile, accentuated by a mild tartness and earthy complexity from the wild native yeast.

Deep golden to amber in color. Moderate sized head of beige bubbles that settles to a silky looking lid and glass coating lace. Some berries wafting across the barnyard scents. Some hints of grains and butterscotch. Light sweet start, with some mildly toasted malts, and bits of blackberries. I’m taken back to my youth when blackberry schnapps would cure many ailments. Soft, airy feel. Mild spice and bite from the rye and likely whiskey barrel. Mild hopsack and horseblanket. Nice saison.

Spice and fruit aroma with a dark copper and cloudy appearance. Has a lacy lingering tan head. Taste has a peppery and fruit tartiness taste in the front of the mouth and a lemon whisky finish that lingers. Overall a very enjoyable ale. One of the best representations of a rye I have had.

Courtesy of Jaghana. Couleur cuivrée trouble, légère mousse blanche. Nez levuré un peu coing et aigre. Gout levuré, fruité citronné, note maltée, paille et boisée. Bon corps. Fin sur l'acidulé et brett. C'est juste pas trop mon style
