COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just like Single Malt Scotch, our spring seasonal I.P.A. is brewed from 100% crisp Maris Otter floor-malted (made by hand!) barley - no specialty malts, no blending. This traditional India Pale Ale is heavily hopped with both Magnum and Cascade hops grown in the Pacific Northwest. Golden in color, refreshing to drink and full of hops, this beer is available from mid-February through mid-September

Light clear copper color, good and hoppy with a nice balance of malt. I have had this on tap numerous times and it is very consistant in style and flavor.

Several drafts at Finn & Porter, Missoula: Yellow-orange, moderately laced. Tight hoppy aroma, very floral. Sweet and tangy like and orange rind (bitter) and mandarin orange (fruit). Light yet extremely flavorful. (#2936, 5/20/2007)

Draft at the rhino. Pours bright gold with a loose and fizzy white head that doesnt last. Big stanky danky herbal nose. Creamy crisp medium body with lively carb. Toast, caramel, corn nuts, and weed on the mid palate. Resiny finish. Complex and refreshing.

This was the best IPA I’ve had in months. On tap at Jakers in Great Falls, Montana, it poured a nice golden yellow but could use more head. Terrific hoppy flavor is strong but not overpowering like so many IPAs. Sweet citris taste come through and give great balance to the beer. If I lived in Montana this would be a regular choice.

Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 9, 2015
On tap at Brewhouse Bar & Grille, Helena, MT. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a semi-hazy orange color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. Stringy smooth lacing stuck and then slid adequately into the beer. The smell had a huge burst of grapefruit up front with a light caramel underneath but balanced out as it warmed. The taste copied the smell and lead to a sweet to bitter grapefruit aftertaste and a semi-dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and somewhat sharp but nothing overbearing. Good. Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA that I would have again.

DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 20, 2011
Draught @ Blue Canyon Tavern. Very hazy (cloudy) yellow gold, thin white head leaving loads of lace. Heaps of white grapefruit, mildly vegetal undertones. Very hoppy, bitter grapefruit rind and resin, with straw-like honey kissed malts. Very nice.

Yummy grapefruit and thick mouthfeel. Enjoyed one before some huckleberry pie at West Glacier Restaurant near Glacier NP. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 Tap. Cloudy, light caramel/amber color w small off white head that fell away to almost nothing quickly. No lace, very little carbonation. Aroma is sweet, resinous, piney hops w lt/med roast malt background. Flavor is semi sweet creamy lt/med roast malt that tasted a bit like cooked caramel & the above mentioned hops. Noticable bitterness especially on the finish, on the lower 1/2 of med bodied. There was a sweet, starchy characteristic and a bit of a harsh/staleness than made me think the keg was tapped too long ago. It washed down some food I ordered OK but I hope not to do it again. Update 9/15/12. Had this at Great Northern Bar, Whitefish. The best thing they had, fresh this time. I’m upping it .4 to 3.7. The bitterness did seem just a bit harsh and tacked on but a good IPA nevertheless.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAY 2, 2006
Draught at The Rhino Pub in Missoula, MT
Poured a cloudy brownish/orange color with a nice creamy white head and excellent lacing. The nose is fresh and bright with some citrusy hops and a smooth malt body. The flavor is very nice with a full body provided by the marris otter along with a moderate hop bitterness in the finish. I liked this IPA, more focus on the malts without forgetting to throw in enough hops.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 2008 NABA. On draft. Pours a very interesting orange color with a small white head. The aroma was quite nice; mostly floral hops and light malts. The taste was really nice; a really good helping of Cascade hops, which was not really bitter, but very tasty and was balanced well by the malt presence. I have to say I really liked this beer, simple in some ways, but very well made.
