Pint on tap. Chocolate with a lasting covering of foam. Mild aroma of cocoa, graham cracker and marshmallow. Tastes of cocoa, toasted walnut, graham cracker and a hint of espresso. Light-medium body is malty per the style, but well balanced and has medium carbonation. Nice session brown. bluesandbarbq (33) - Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA - MAY 16, 2011
Deep brown pour with a tannish head and some lacing. Nice aromas of toasted malts, chocolate, nuts and very slight hops. Taste is rich with a slight coffee and cocoa presence then a nice touch of hops in the end. decaturstevo (6341) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JAN 28, 2010
Black pour with tan head and lace. Burnt coffee, flavor with semi sweet malt, and a nice malt bitter. A tad thin but a very good beer. ChainGangGuy (4909) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - DEC 26, 2009
Appearance: Clear, dark brown body with a ruby-hued hints at the edges and capped with a small-sized, off-white head.
Smell: Modestly roasty nose with notes of chopped walnuts, chocolate powder, and coffee.
Taste: Chocolate and coffee blend with a taste of roasted nuts. Lightly sweet. All-around earthy taste. Very mild hop character and bitterness. Drying, nutty finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s a tolerable nut brown ale and one of the few offerings available at Blackhorse that wasn’t riddled with buttery diacetyl. Tmoney99 (14769) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 5, 2009

This is an ale and its brown. So far, so good. Aroma is a mix of chestnuts and hops. More nutty than hoppy in the flavor. Also rather bready and tosty. Not ba, actually. Sampled at the2008 Knoxville Brewer’s Jam
