Towey1989 (2107) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2016
Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of bready malt, rye bread, some caramel, slight dark fruits and subtle earthy hops. Taste of bready malt, some roasted malt, a little caramel, a hint of blackcurrant, maybe other dark fruits and subtle earthy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, rye bread bitterness in the finish. Quite a bitter bitter. Lots of dry malts and subtle fruit. Different but not exciting.

Cask at the Cock Tavern, Hackney on 15th July 2016. Deep copper with whitish shallow foam and spot lacing. Biscuity caramel malt aroma. Fine, sharpened citrus and herby hoppiness in-mouth. A bitter, grassy finish. Light-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask. Broadfield, Sheffield. Clear amber. Dense, off white head. Very fruity. Got some sour cherry to it. Plenty of grainy malt. Is this brewed using Rye? Taste is fairly bitter. Some sweetness. Lots of body. Finishes bitter, and a little spicy. Interesting. Not sure Im overly keen, mind.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and light, mild fine carbonation. Smooth malts supports a pleasant fresh tangy orange with traces of lemon and grapefruit. A nice juicy superior bitter. Finishes light and smooth.

In The Macc, Macclesfield. Cheers again to my mates Moby who took me out for a few. Dark ruby brown, lasting frothy off white pale beige head. Palate is thin. Finish is just edging over medium bitterness. Fruity and malty. Not a winner for me.
