12oz can. Deep ruby red hued brown. Steady beige head. The coconut works well with the base beer. Pretty tame and straightforward. Malt centered, sweet, pleasant. Pleasant toasted coconut tones linger in the finish. Good. Carlisle (786) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2017
Can. Pours hazy brown with tan head that dissipates quickly. Nose of brown sugar and leather with funky perfume notes; not the most appetizing aroma. Brown sugar, coconut, and chocolate with earthy flavors. Odd earthy funk throughput. Troupis (261) - - JUN 17, 2017
Part of me wants to give this a bump in rating because it's from the U.P. and I partially admire the living that far north and feel bad. But, then I'm reminded that all someone has to do do up there is perfect a beer recipe so should actually get docked points if it's not excellent. Or, If they had used coconuts native to the area I'd give them a perfect score.
In the end it's a not-good beer that does do a good job of subtlety in the coconut flavor but the brown behind it has an odd aroma, a murky hue, a flat palate, and mediocre taste.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice coconut note with bread and a touch of dark grains. Flavor starts with coconut but finish also has bread and dark grains. Drake (14059) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 14, 2017
Keg at the brewery. Slightly hazy dark brown, thin creamy offwhite head, good retention. Aroma of coconut, toffee. Taste is strong coconut, toasted malt, caramel. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. 13.4k!

Can: Soil and leather nose, not strong. Clear garnet brown, medium yellow head. Maple syrup, coconut, Light body, easy carbonation. Easy drinking, sessionable but with a neat twist. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 29, 2016
Pour out of 12 oz can, hazy reddish brown pour with white head, aroma brought notes of roast, cocoa, nice vanilla, slight coconut into a bit of earth, spice, hints of caramel. Taste was a mix of caramel, toffee, coconut and vanilla into a bit of roast, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry. Pretty tasty. andyhwcinc (1884) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 27, 2016
Purchased at Siciliano's Market in Grand Rapids, MI; enjoyed at home still recovering from a half marathon while icing a foot. Appearance is cola brown with a moderate white head. Aroma of coconut, chocolate, and caramel, smells great. Taste is very good, not too sweet, coconut shines through, not really bitter, caramel notes as well. Its a desserty beer without being decadent. Well done. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 19, 2016
Picked up six-pack from Ridgeview Liquors in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear amber brown colored brew with a nice off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, a hint of toffee, floral hops and a touch of chocolate. Taste is medium bodied with more coconut and light chocolate/caramel flavors than detected in aroma. Coconut is not overpowering in flavor and finish. Finish is semi-sweet with a vanilla, coconut and chocolate aftertaste that slowly disappears. A pleasant surprise and could be a favorite specialty brown ale to compare all others to. Nicely done. katrinaez (2175) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 19, 2016
Very nice. Coconut is subtle and shows through perfectly. Slight barley and malts. Aroma is light and easy. Can
