The aroma is hops, citrus. Pours a clear copper orange with mostly lasting white head and excellent lacing. The taste is a medium/light bitter. The body is medium/full, the texture creamy, the carbonation soft and the finish bitter. Very good!! milewide (2371) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 9, 2017
Nice balance between sweet and bitter; fruity and herbal hops. Cloudy amber color. 12 ounce can. arminjewell (9746) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Pour out of 12 oz can, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange, grapefruit, some resinous notes with a touch of bread/biscuit. Taste was a mix of orange, bread, toffee, slight resinous and pine notes, finishing slightly bitter, slightly sweet. pablo951 (696) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 11, 2016
Had it out of a can, and try as it can try as it might, this little brewski is eh aw’iight. Medium nose, ok color, and redeeming taste. ChiGuy68 (635) - Illinois, USA - OCT 4, 2016
Tasted from a 12oz. can. It poured a hazy amber with a big frothy white head and a big solid ring of lacing. A bright tropical nose with plenty of pineapple and peach. This brew is pretty strong for all it’s fruitiness (9.2%). Well hopped with nice bitterness. I bought it on a road trip (thanks to a recommendation at Rishis International Beverage) and wish I could buy this in Chicago. It says it’s a limited release, but I’ll definitely be looking for it the next time I travel to Michigan.

can. Golden with small head. Moderately sweet body. Solid hops with substantial bitterness. Both citrus and pine. Aboverage DIPA, but I didn’t find it as exceptional as other raters.

Pours orange amber with a moderate white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma of pine, tropical fruit, malt. The malt and hops are just so well balanced in the flavor. Medium/full bodied with an oily texture. Lasting dry resinous finish. Bought a single can of this and so wish I had more.

Draft pour from a growler to my tulip-snifter. Great, fresh juicy citrus aroma. Perfect copper-orange color with an almost white head. The initial taste suggested it may be a hoppy and bitter bomb, but that was just the beer saying "hello" to my palate. Well-balanced from start to finish. Surprisingly smooth for an IIPA with the hops and bitterness it offered--not to mention the high ABV. I’ll need another growler, please. chucklemation (1826) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - AUG 2, 2016
Pours a hazy copper with a white foam head. Aroma is lots of tropical fruit, mango, citrus, and pine hops, and resin. Flavor is juicy hops, tropical fruits, some citrus, and resin. Has plenty of carbonation and a little bit of bitterness. Blackrocks allows the hops to shine through without the bitterness, which I like. This is a fantastic double IPA with lots of aroma and flavor. superspak (6504) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JUL 22, 2016
12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours hazy deep orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, orange juice, mango, peach, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and compelxity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, pineapple, orange juice, mango, peach, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, orange juice, mango, peach, papaya, lemon/orange peel, honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding DIPA! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
