Described as ’almost lager-like’ - yup, agree - pleasant enough thirst quencher but low on flavour - hint of noble hops.
On draught at the brewery.
Bright, orange gold with sluggish, fine carbonation. Rocky, inch-thick crown, just off-white, is lasting and leaves some solid lacing. Clean, light malt and hop nose; grainy, grassy and herbal with a touch of sour citrus. The carbonation is a little too fierce, so some brutal swirls of the glass were in order. Out pops layers of toasted, sunny grains, herbal, dusty hops and a good zing of that cirus of the aroma. Pleasantly bitter, clean and crisp in the finish with no length. Keeps good even as it warms, but who could let it get that far. Perfectly suited to the surrounds of this seaside gastropub. Nice balance and a highly quaffable beer all round.
