For me this is a local brew. I like this because the flavor is slightly bitter with a delightfully sweet aftertaste. allfreej (556) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 13, 2007
Cask at Nashville Blackstone Restaurant. Poured dark brow, ruby highlights. Nose is malty. Flavor is smoky, nutty, malty, chocolatey. Finish is nicely hopped. Soft, delicate mouthfeel. TheKegergator (241) - California, USA - JAN 31, 2007
This thing poured a nice dark color with a good sized head. I wanted to try this one first since Browns are easily my second favorite beer to drink. This one did not disappoint. A smooth flavorful brew that I am very happy to have tried. IrishBoy (4233) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JAN 8, 2007
Bottle from Beer_Hawk; Thanks! Nose is sweet caramel and roastiness; clear walnut with a small tan head, that left really quickly; flavor has some hop bitterness, caramel malt, and walnuts in the flavor. The hops disappear and the finish is sweetness. BelgianBeerGal (4155) - Panama City, Florida, USA - DEC 25, 2006
Bottle in the States. Just a boring a beer. Nothing makes me want to try it again. Not remotely the same quality of beers sampled in northern England as the label claims.

A slightly hazed dark brown pour. A flavor of sweet caramel malt. A light bitter finish. A very balanced sweet yet bitter beer. Good to decent mouthfeel with light carbonation. A very good drinker. Suttree (6504) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 15, 2006
Color is nut brown, as one might expect. Flavor is nutty, as one might expect. Nice creamy, malty bready flavor. Sampled at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, 2006. JonnyC22 (164) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - OCT 8, 2006
Bottle (6’er) from Harris Teeter in Belle Meade. This beer is legit, though maybe overrated. Great body, pretty sweet (like a honey brew), can’t find the nutty flavor many talk about. Great level of carbonation, which is a very important aspect to me. Good mid-level micro. recordjunkie5 (20) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 11, 2006
I’ve had the draught and the bottled. Definitely sweet from the beginning and a slight toasted flavor. Finish leaves a very sweet taste for a brown ale. Ok. radiomgb (2838) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 26, 2006

href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>piscator34, thanks Kris. Dull brown in colour, quickly dissipating tan coloured head, no lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, some caramel malts, toasty, light chocolate. The flavour is highly sweet, some toffee, nutty, very light roasted malts. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes quite sweet, lingering. Other then being too sweet for my tastes there is nothing wrong with this.
