Pours deep dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is roast, dark chocolate and caramel. Taste is sweet with some dark chocolate bitters. Medium bodied with slick texture. Bork (461) - Rosewood, Georgia, USA - OCT 18, 2014
Light and watery brew with less aroma and flavor than desired from the style. Not bad by any means, just not much of anything. ttutony (952) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 8, 2014
Medium brown with an off-white head. Really nice toast, nutty, and caramel aromas. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Nice malty flavor profile that mirrors the aromas. Well done. joelfaber (37) - Washington, USA - SEP 27, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head of foam that disappeared quickly. Light aroma of roasted nuts. Tastes of nuts and malt. Light body. Not enough body for such a dark ale. THISisTIG (2) - - JUN 11, 2014 does not count
Beer was on tap directly from the serving tank. Decent flavor and aroma with no apparent off flavor.

Bottle sample at RBWG. Pours brown in color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor had roasted malt, nuts, a little cocoa and some earthy bitterness. A bit better than their APA. BeerdedDave (2005) - Beckley, USA - MAY 12, 2014
reddish-brown color; nutty, malty aroma; a malty, semi-bitter, medium-bodied brown ale with roasted malt flavor FestDecBeet (412) - - MAY 7, 2014
Look: pours a dark brown. Dark red color when held to the light. White head that turns into thick lacing.
Smell: ripe dark fruit smell. Cherries and raisins. Strong malt
Taste: strong cherries. Maybe a red apple
Feel: not to thick but a good beer. Nice carbonation. Smooth a lifter taste.
Overall: not a bad beer. Sweet on the nose and tongue. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2014
This one poyured a lighter brown color with an offw htiehead. Aroma was of toast, caramel and light nut character. Flavor was similar, fairly bland caramel malt and some toast. Bland but not offensive. Panzuriel (2446) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2014
On Tap at Blackstone Restaurant and Brewery in Nashville TN. A rich deep brown clear liquid with a light tan head. Nose is sweet and full of good roasted malt and nut earthiness. Taste is a full round and earthy roasted malt with a hazelnut aspect which is clear. Body is smooth and full. finish is a good amount of warming roasted malt.
