COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our most popular brewmaster special brought back by overwhelming requests. A classic British nut brown ale. Full bodied, complex and interesting yet mild in flavor. Our interpretation of this style has distinctive hop aroma and flavor. (O.G.-1.052, IBUs 23)

mcberko (19871) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 28, 2017
On tap at Blackstone, pours a clear deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is pretty dull, with light toasted nuts. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted nuts and muffled earthy notes. Not particularly brown ale-like. Dull and lacking direction. Meh.

Bottle from Kroger, Cookeville, Tennessee. Brown with next to no head. Has a darker-malt sweetness, but is light in both taste and nose.

shadey (2171) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 5, 2017
12oz bottle. Pours brown with a touch of red. Aroma is caramelly, bready, and sweet. Flavors are okay, but still sweet. I like American brown ales that have hops to clean up the sweetness.

Malty aroma, more woody than nutty. Flavor is mild and malty, with some coffee and chocolate. A little roast coffee bitterness in the finish. Good, but a little mild for my taste.

Pours a brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel and earthy hops, with light hints of nut. Flavor is caramel, toast, some nit, and earthy hops. Has a light sweetness and a light body. Not too flavorful, but a nice light drinker.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The aroma has nutty, toffee-like nuances. Some dry walnutty notes comd through in the taste. Medium body. Subtle sweetness is throughout. It has an earthy dryness in the finish. Decent brown ale.

chinchill (5395) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 8, 2015
Refrigerated 12 oz bottle dated notched with a BB date of Nov. 2015. Clear medium brown body; some sediment from the bottom of the bottle added mid-tasting. Mild but pleasant aroma with borwn bread and toffee dominating. The flavor is even milder, with a near equal bitter/sweet balance.
