Bottle at Bob’s Steakhouse in Nashville. Served very cold. Dark brown with virtually no head. Aroma is nutty, ash and coffee with bitter chocolate notes. Very sweet taste, very little hop character. Slick mouthfeel. Decent porter.

From notes, rated at Great American Beer Festival. Will add more notes if I get to rate this again. Good stuff.

mcberko (20285) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 28, 2017
On tap at Blackstone, pours a dark brown with a reddish tinge and medium beige head. Aroma reveals toasted malt upfront, with a hint of cocoa. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, a hint of cocoa and even lighter roast. Nicely balanced, with a fairly dry finish. Nice one.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2017 Pours black with not much head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Roasted malt taste with chocolate and light coffee - all which lingers in afteraste.

Sampled at GABF 2017 in Denver, CO. Numerical rating only - did not take detailed notes.

Good porter, or maybe a good-enough porter, touching all the bases for the style without really excelling at any of them. Chocolate notes mesh with a nice roasty backbone, slight cherry notes melding with java undertones and a semisweet cocoa finish. Texture is good, and the nose features strong dark roast java and chocolate. Not bad.

tapefuzz (981) - Massachusetts, USA - JUN 19, 2017
12oz bottle. Pours dark, dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is nuts, cereal, and malt. Taste is vanilla, toast, roast, and light hazelnut. Lingering taste of sweet yeast. Light-medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slick mouthfeel.

Bottle from beer of month club. Smells and tastes like a brown ale with a bit more smoke. Nut finish with cereal-hay notes up front. Smooth with hint of bitterness. Somewhat light body. Good and would do again.

Bottle. Cherry, chocolate malt, and light straw aroma. Dark chestnut brown with minimal head. Moderately sweet light cherry, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Okay body - light acidic finish. Fruity and pleasant. Think I have yet to disagree with Michael Jackson.

Patrickctenchi (6832) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle: Clear, dark cola-brown with a tan head. Cocoa, nutty aroma. Taste is roasty chocolate malt/cocoa, nuts, vanilla. Nice and robust in body and flavour.... A great Porter.

On Tap at Blackstone Brewery, Nashville, TN, 4.5.16. Clear dark red. Malt, sweet aroma, hints of roastiness, hints of chocolate syrup. Roasty bitterness and a little sweet in the mouth. Rather light-bodied, soft fizz, long, sweet and roasty aroma.
