alteregoo (1070) - POLAND - NOV 29, 2016

Some apricot and a little citrus. Amber pour with a little initial head. Tangy and sweet taste like getting turned down by a confident woman. Tap at Churchkey.

Bottle. Hazy hazelnut/amber with a large off white/beige head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Mild brown sugar, honey, minerals and flowers in the nose. Flavour has mild dark dried fruits, brown sugar, honey, red grapes, berries, acidity. Filling mouthfeel with lively carbonation, some sweetness, light/medium acidic, some astringency. I don’t enjoy the acidity and astringency.

Bottle shared at home. Almost clear reddish brown with fizzy beige head that leaves a little ring of medium sized bubbles. Cranberries, lots of wood and dead leaves, figs, dry earthy notes, some funk and hay, spicy yeast, raisins, sour red berries, overripe cherries. Very light sweetness and sourness and under medium bitter. Medium bodied with a bit fizzy carbonation and very dry feel. Interesting stuff.

I smaken tillkommer viss alkoholsötma.

750ml bottle. Murky orange with brown head. Aroma is bready and malty with saison yeast, hay and slight spiciness. Taste is similarly malty and bready with saison yeast, hay, spices and a very slight acidic touch in the finish. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and malty hay aftertaste.

Bottle at Spuyten Duyvil, Williamsburg. Yeasty aroma, quite citrusey, somewhat sour but not overbearingly so. Enjoyable beer.
