COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Moneuse is named for A. J. Moneuse (b. 1768), a famous local bandit and gang leader, and ancestor of the brewers’ family. It is a classic "saison" beer by virtue of its strength and its earthy, aged quality. It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character, a fresh but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavors and a fairly strong, but pleasant and enticing mustiness.

Tap. Pale amber colour, cloudy. Moderate rocky off-white head. Aroma: fine overripe apples and pears, spicy yeast, pleasant acidity. Medium body. The taste is dry. Mouldy leaves, sourish fruit, spiciness. Light to medium bitter grassy ending. Excellent saison.

Robe orange claire, limpide. Mousse abondante (petit gush) blanche, aérée, légère, rocailleuse, tenue moyenne. Nez épicé (poivré), levuré, doux fruité et suret. Bouche douce légèrement fruitée (pêche, prune), caramel. Petit côté sûr fruité. Malté présent, pointe levurée épicée poivrée. Houblon léger, herbacé. Amertume très légère en fin de bouche. Masque très bien ses 8%. Corpulence moyenne, texture légèrement collante, carbonatation moyenne. Bière douce, maltée, légèrement fruitée et épicée. Trop forte pour une saison, pas assez "buvable" pour ce style à mon sens.

Poncjusz (225) - POLAND - JUL 7, 2017
Zloty, lekko wchodzacy w pomarańcz, zamglony, piana sredniej struktury ale wysoka i dość trwała. Aromat klasyczny, czuc kwas, szampan, przyprawy, delikatne dzikość i estry. W smaku petarda! Aksamitna mieszanka słodu drożdży, przypraw, owoców. W tle ciasto drożdżowe kompot z suszu. Pijalnosc wysoka jak nie ekstremalna. Najlepszy klasyk jaki pilem, mimo braku wyraznych przypraw jakie lubie w saisonie.

MelvinKalksma (1577) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 26, 2017

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, fruit, bread, Saison yeast and hops.

Appearance:
Turbid amber/orange beer with a large off-white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, Saison yeast and hops.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Lovely balanced Saison with no real flaws, besides the aroma that could have been stronger. Have to say that I always think it is really hard to write an overall for this style.

Fules (1264) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - MAY 12, 2017

Light to medium sweet, round, medium dry lasting bitter refreshing. Light to medium body, silky texture, good carbonation, floral citrusy dry bitter finish. Overall, awesome !!
