hrabren (2102) - Zagreb, CROATIA - NOV 19, 2017Bottle at Varna, Bulgaria. Shared with lovely Anja and Our K&K Igor. Dark brown, medium tan head. Roasty, chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Dry, roasty, ash, no coconut. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light dry finish, thick texture. Good.
Tim Webb (473) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 201733 cl bottle from 1001 Beers in Sofia. Overcarbonated, could happily lose the coconut (which I suspect is fermenting of its own accord and messing things up), odd cocoa-buttermilk aroma, and not punching its weight, but hey, this is Bulgaria and indigenous beer is a new phenomenon here. If we keep trying it and feeding back it gets to improve and they get to survive.
Svartvit (1059) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 23, 2017Bottle at home. Pours close to black/dark brown with a tan head. This is a strange one. Over-carbonated, big roast, some piney hops, light sour, berries? Very dry finish, light coconut. Kind of hard to drink due to the dryness and the strong roast + carb combination.
SVD (2290) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 13, 2017Bottle at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, roast, coffee, chocolate, hint of coconut, Taste is the same, bitter, some sweetness, ok not bad
jjsint (3786) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 25, 2017Bottle from 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Very dark brown, slightly translucent. A fair bit of visible carbonation but not a lot of head. Sweet coconut and vanilla aroma with a little chocolate malt. Taste is a bit too sweet for me, but to be fair it is balanced with a nice bitter note in the finish. Quite tasty indeed, although I normally like a little more character for the ABV.
