17/XI/17 - on tap @ DICT Dell Showcase - BB: n/a (2017-1881) Thanks to Erwin for fixing these beers!

Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, very stable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty spicy, roasted, cocoa powder, citrus touch, kiwi, lychee, some grapefruit. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted start, charcoal, ashes, really bitter, bit sweet, caramel notes, some chocolate. Aftertaste: very roasted, coffee, some grapefruit, very hoppy, bitter, more chocolate & coffee on warming up.

Bottle picked up at Kaapse? consumed at home Thursday 5th October 2017 whilst making Potato Farls and also some Olive Oil Chocolate Pots with Orange and Sea Salt. Pours nearly black with a large light beige head. Wow so much chocolate. mostly in the mouth but noticed on the nose. Wonderful roasted flavour, plenty of hops but they are more than kept in check by the other flavours, it really is fabulous. Really, really lovely BIPA, superb. A8 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.2

bottle from Het Bierhuis, Breda,
Decent black ipa, no wow effect. Some cocoa powder notes in flavor, dry finish. But hops profile seems too boring to me - just resiny, piney and most in a bittering. Some tiny citrus notes in aroma. And some sour after-aftertaste was definitely not cool. Medium+ body, mashy texture.

Tap @ Oproer. Black coloured, off white head. Nose is roasted malts, laurel, liquorice, citric hops. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, citric and pine hops. Pretty good.

Bottle at home. Black with cream head. Nice hoppy smell. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, toffee, coffee, mocha, pecan pastry buns, weed, fresh dough, leek, sweaty onion. Over medium sweet and bitter. Medium body, average carbonation. Lovely stuff! Two beers with kermis in the name and they are both nice!

Maakun (7101) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 9, 2016
Bottle at home. Almost black with dark beige head. Lots of grapefruit, fruit candy, toffee, light coffee, roasted pumpkin seeds, sweet malts, orange, peach. Quite sweet and fruity in a fruit candy way, balanced with bitter roasted notes, and again a thicker underlying malt sweetness. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

Bottle shared. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Notes of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, tropical fruit, passion fruit. Medium body and carbonation.

Interesting combination of different bitter tastes: fresh hoppy bitterness vs. the heavy bitterness of chocolate/coffee aromas. There also a little bit of fruity sweetness in the taste. Not the best beer, but definitely ok.

Lore (3065) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 24, 2016
dark brown colour, large, dense and stable beige head; aroma of dark chocolate, tropical fruity and citrusy notes; taste is the same;nothing extrordinary, but still very enjoyable black IPA
