On tap somwhere! Slightly hazy amber beer. Toffee and marmalde hops on the nose. Smooth palate. Very nicely balanced toffee malt and light ’green’ hops. A little sweet orange and peach in the finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Bow Bar, 80 West Bow, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 2HH.

Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy to creay, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light hoppy, wood - apple notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100205]

Rating is the better of two - that’s how the brewer intended it I’m sure.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Market (No) Porter.
Bright copper with a very impressive off white head and lace. Big fruity malt with a good earthy feel and some excellent balancing grassy hops. Superb creamy stuff with a hint of coffee. Mellow and drinkable but bags of character. Really good stuff.

cask at cloisters ... copper thin white head ... light lemon hop ... musty fruits ... little melon ... little hop
