Cask at JDW, Altrincham. Dark cola brown shade with blotchy patches of head. Faint coffee aroma. Taste is earthy roast, coffee, bonfire toffee and a hint of liquorice. Good stuff, for me it hits a lot of the right porter notes. fonefan (49369) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2012

Cask (handpump) @ Crescent, 18-21 The Crescent, Salford, Greater Manchester, England M5 4PF.
Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, coffee, cold coffee, toffee notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, coffee, candy sweet, toffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Tasted this at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh in January 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Dull ruby black in colour with a tight creamy buff head. Slight roast grain note in the short pleasant aroma. Thick creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malts give a treacle toffee base with blackcurrant fruit. Short bitter notes in the dry hoppy, almost nutty aftertaste. Finish is malty with a dry liquorice note. An excellent new porter.
