On-tap at Belmont Station: Excellent quality bourbon is instantly appreciated now that I’ve allowed it to warm (I highly recommend doing this). Some caramel sweetness, vanilla, cherries, and almond let the barrel character be known. Light vinegar makes its presence but never gets in the way of the Pappy.
I typically prefer lower alcohol Flanders’ and have yet to enjoy one of this strength. Off flavors such as acetone and copper run rampant through Dissident, Kuhnhenn’s Oud Bruin, and Aardmonik. None of those have been to my liking. Not picking up those undesirables here. By a ridiculously wide margin, this is the best Oud Bruin (if you care to call it that, I do) I’ve yet to have. Wow this beer hugely exceeded my expectations. Pours brown with some robeytones and clarity. Aroma is smooth bourbon, vanilla, oak, cherries, tart dark fruits. Taste is medium sweetness and nice tartness without any vinegar bite.. Love it. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - JAN 14, 2014

Tap @ Belmont Station... Poured deep, brown/mahogany with a little head that faded quickly. Low carbonation, mellow mouthfeel. Nose had dark fruits, bourbon, and toffee, sugary malt. Tasted quite vinous with notes of prune juice. Other dark fruits like dates and cherries. Also oak, bourbon, malt sweetness, clove spice, and vanilla. Finished with hint of acidity and tartness. From a bottle at Dark Lord Day in Munster, ID. Pours light-red with a medium off white head. Light lacing. Nose of raspberry with acidic and oak aroma. Medium plus body. Flavor is a nice tart berry, and the finish is sour. Very good tasting.

750mL bottle, pours an opaque dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out complex bourbon barrels, light tartness, and dark fruits - quite exquisite. Flavour brings out loads of Pappy barrels, oak, some dark fruits, and moderate dark fruits. The Pappy barrels really stand out with an exquisite complexity, finishing on bourbon and sour notes. Poured from 750 to glass that was properly cellared since release. Clear brown hue with reddish tint and tan head that dissipated to a ring. Aroma is cherry, lactic, tobacco, leather, bourbon. Mouthfeel is great with a light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweet with a tart following and oaky tannin finish. Bottle. Colour...ruddy amber with a thick white head. Nose...fruity with a hint towards young orchard fruits, as well as yeast and orange pith. Palate...sweet but not cloying with orchard fruits, caramel and taffy apples, then a wave of tart semi sour cherries. There’s oak here as well as a somewhat grapey flavour that’s reminiscent of a Viognier and then the Bourbon arrives. The Bourbon is not dominant but adds a distinct flavour to the experience.
