3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet, light honey nose with a touch of apple and leaves. Flavor is lightly sweet, with honey and ripe pear, some raw sugar, light citrus juice, and a touch of dusty yeast. Fairly solid, but could use improved carbonation retention.
500ml bottle from "b2 taphouse" in Salem OR
Pours a slightly turbid darker gold colour body with a small frothy cream coloured head.
Slightly tart and sour aromas, bananas, clove and vanilla wood.
Taste similar..but with the sourness rising towards the end..creamy esthiness..if thats even possible!
Nice moderate mouth feel..perhaps if there is a fault coud have more carbonation..but its fine enough.
Great beer..one for the fall. Sarlacc83 (2471) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Tap at the production brewery.
A: Very cloudy copper in color with a thin creme color head.
N: Straw, peppercorn, esters, hay, honey, grapefruit, wheat, green apple, lemon zest, lots of funkiness, a bit of diacetyl, spent grains
T: Lightly sweet, funky, tart.
M: Light body, no alcohol, soft carbonation.
O: Alright. I’d like it if they dried this out more; it feels too heavy and dense. koleminer20 (4261) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 27, 2016
From notes. Enjoyed at Corbet’s house during a tasting on October 24. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a darker golden yellow color with a thick white head that slowly pillows down to a thin cap. The aroma is really acidic up front. There is a nice bitter citrus zest and a dusty barnyard. A light herbal hop and hint of spicy yeast brings up the rear. The flavor is much of the same. There is a light fruit, tart, and then the spicy yeast and an earthy malt moves in. There is a light floral hop on the back end that I’m not crazy about, but I don’t hate. The mouth feel is a little heavy with a softer carbonation and a light floral hop and dusty barnyard funk on the back end. It’s a decent saison. vyvvy (6955) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 19, 2016
Pours lightly murky orange with an off white head. The aroma had caramel, must, spice, honey slickness and a hint of sourness. It has a medium/thin body with prickly carbonation. The taste has must, wood, earth, off fruitiness, some sour notes, pepper and rustic leaves. Good, but a bit confusing. Thanks so much to Hannont for passing this one along. vtafro (7453) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUN 14, 2016

2016 bottle. Hazy pale pour, fine-bubbled foamy white head. Good retention. Aroma: dusty, herbal, citrus, light clove and honey. Taste: super toasty, cereal grains, dry with a lightly acidic finish. Medium- body, average carbonation, slick texture, lasting cereal. djd07 (16465) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 19, 2015
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with thick off white head. The aroma is funk, yeast, spice. Medium mouth, citrus, light spice, brett, dry finish, very good. BuckeyeBoy (9218) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 28, 2015
750ml bottle pours out a hazy golden topped with a bubbly head. When this was fresh it was more saison forward as time has passed and Brett took over. It is now more wild and sour. Nose is Brett tartness citrus lemon wood and perfume. Taste is more of the brett tartness citrus and wood. I like it more now then went it was fresh. I love how time and bugs change beer. Something may be off with this bottle. Aroma is lemon pledge chemicals possibly acetone or some such thing but when mixed with the tart lemony flavors comes off really odd. Acrid and hard to drink but it smells ok.
