Tap. Brown color with small tan ring. Aroma is tobacco, oak sugar, molasses, raisins. Taste is raisins, lots of oak sugar, brandy burn. Medium carbonation. Quite sweet, a bit too unbalanced. Not excellent.

Poured from a growler. Murky brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is brandy, booze, sweet figs and molasses. Flavor is very much the same with a touch of vanilla. Alcohol is masked much more in the flavor than it is in the nose. Mouthfeel is a little watery but doesnt detract from the flavor. Solid beer from a great brewery.

ACHops (1498) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2017
On tap @ Chucks CD. Pours slightly watery dark blackish brown with thin mocha head that fades instantly. Aroma is fresh figs, dried apricots, caramel, and sweet boozy brandy. Taste is toasted dark caramel malt, molasses, vanilla, cinnamon, and figs. Loads of figs and brandy - if you like those, youll love this. Rich unique flavors without being cloying. Not a universal attraction, Ill allow, so this remains a unique offering.

On tap at Beer Baron in Pleasanton. It pours a dark brown color with a creamy khaki head. The aroma has caramel, bread, figs, raisin and a little bourbon. The flavor is smooth with lots of sweet caramel, bread, bourbon and fig. Pretty true to the name and description. A little more oak and bourbon in the finish with plummy raisins. Pretty good. The alcohol is strong. Id say this is more of a barleywine than anything else.

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks ruddick! Dark brown/black colour, brown foam. Sweet fruity (notes of berries, figs and plums), spicy (cinamon, cloves) and chocolaty sweetness. Strange beer but not bad.
