hackobock (4095) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 30, 2016
August 29, 2015. Bottle at home, shared by VsXsV, thanks!
Dark brown with a very quickly dissipating head. Aroma is sweet malty, tart fruits and vinous with sweet toffee, dried fruits, hints of vanilla, bourbon, rum, plum, grape skins, oak, balsamic vinegar. Taste is tart berries with cherries, grape skins, hints of lemon, light malty sweetness with dark sugars and plum. Slightly dry tart finish with some maltiness in the background. Medium bodied, slightly dry texture, fizzy carbonation.

Very nice balance between the malty sweetness and the fruity acidity.

The color is dark, close to black, with small head. Convincing aroma, dark malts, a bit sour, chocolate, vanilla. Lean body; dark chocolate flavor, and strong sourness that reminds me of strawberries; rather dry; harmonious and powerful.
Excellent.

Bottle. Light hazy deep ruby liquid with small, fast dissipating light tan head. Aroma of lemon, light vinegar, wood, light bread, apple skin, light funk and light raw sugar. Taste is dry and medium to high sour with notes of lemons, apple skin, wood and light raw sugar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice, quite malty. Low levels of acetic acid, which I like.

hopscotch (11305) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 10, 2015
Bottle... Pours hazy and brown with no head. The nose is toasty and vinous, accompanied by nice notes of liquor and wood. Full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor is warming, toasty and lightly fruity - sour cherries and dark fruits. Nice tartness here. Finishes tangy, lightly bitter and boozy. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is oak, dark fruit, figs. Thin mouth, dark fruit, oak tannin, lingering sourness, very good.

Poured from tap to glass. Dark hue with creamy brown head that dissipated to a ring. Aroma is lactic, acetic, fruit, rum, oak, tobacco. Mouthfeel is great with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet followed by a tartness throughout. Overall this is an interesting but good beer.
