Bottle brought to and shared at Dan’s Birthday (Lyons, IL). Pours a deeper blackish brown with deeper dark haze and body. Near opaque with some ruby reddish edges. A bigger cakey light brown head atop stays as a decent layer, a bit cakey with some good stick around. Ok lacing. Aromas are oaky and biscuity, some nice vanilla and spirit. Toast and cherries meet whiskey spirit. Sour cherries, gentle cherry skin, and oak. Some biscuits, gentle toast. Some firmer oak and warmth, gentle fuzzy warm whiskey. Initial is medium bodied, a bit dry and tannic, decent to medium sour cherry skin and and tartness. Some gentle toasty and biscuity malt, some caramel, a touch thinner. Fuzzy tannic feel and more cherryskin, tart and gentle sour cherries. Mellow funk, big oak as we turn the corner. Some warmth, a bit of cocoa and brown malt back there gives that telltale feel, some tannic vanilla and wet wood, gentle spirit. Some fuzzy brett, lively carbonation and some vanilla, sour cherries, oak. Really blends well. Not big or cloying, gentle brett, lively funk, decent sourness lingers on with oak, a touch of brown malt and toastiness. Pretty solid. A bit more on the Sour Red/Brown side I’d say. 750mL bottle, courtesy of daknole, pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up big prune, blueberry, cherry and then cherry tart funkiness. There’s also a mild degree of spicy black strap molasses around the edges of the aroma. The taste is thick and nice with cherry funky tartness rolling into nectar like notes of prunes and blueberries. Toward the finish some malts and chocolate come to the surface and blend in nicely with the various fruity notes. Bottle:   Deep brown, deep red hues, thin beige head, spotty lacing.   Soft tart nose, vinous, slight cherry.   Smells nice! Vinous on the tongue, oakish, tart, slightly dry, some dark pitted fruit and cherries.

Bottle shared by Deyholla, thanks! Pours near black with foamy cream head. Nose is loads of tart red fruits balanced by strong umami and a hint of metallic acidity. Taste is more umami and metallics. Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours near black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sour fruit with some backing barnyard and light dark grains. 750mL thanks to brainlair and ryan. Dark porter color, coffee foam. Dwindling quickly. Acid cut. Nose has dark red wine, blackberry, small seasoned tomato from the bourbon, cracked black pepper. Taste is tangy, woody, dusty, light black cherry, excellent lime juice acidity. Clean, nice cocoa addition. Essentially a dark sour. Has some Fantome Noel like mild acidity combined with a bizarre but loveable concoction of flavors. Loving the palate. Tangy dark roast wine barrel herbal notes. Poirs dark brown great tan gead. Flavors of roast dark malt tangy barrel buggy wine notes. Dry roast is there. Lots of tangy barrel finish big airy carvonation. Nice.
