COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For this, our first blend of Framboise, our brewmaster selected two-year-old Turbulent Consequence barrels. We packed them with copious amounts of locally-grown red raspberries from Stahlbush Island Farms. The most fruit-forward of 2016’s TC offerings, Framboise pours a striking light burgundy with a fleeting white head. Its aroma boasts huge raspberry freezer jam with background notes of pinot noir. The flavor follows the nose with jammy raspberry, some watermelon, and solid funk. Framboise finishes semi-sweet, with an assertive acidity.

12/10/2016 -- from notes: 500ml bottle, thanks to prufrockstar for sharing. Hazier pinkish red color, little white head, pretty color.. Whoa, big tart raspberry nose, almost burns the nostril a bit. Moderate to bigger sour taste, touch of acetone. Sort of a sour burn in the back of the head. Mild slick texture, lighter carbonation. Small sips only. Nice one to try a small amount of, but a little aggressive and biting.

Bottle at Neils. Pours clear burgundy with no head. Aroma light raspberry, light funk, slightly balsamic. Taste is medium tart raspberry, sweet cinnnamon raspberry, slightly balsamic, a hint of oak.

500 ml bottle shared by Prufrockstar - thanks again, Chris! Pours a clear red rose color with a small white head that settles into a ring. Loads of raspberry, with lemon, florals, blueberry, red wine vinegar, watermelon, and oak. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a tart, fruity, jammy mouthfeel. So many dimensions to the raspberry, which adds layers to a nice base sour. Great stuff. My opinion of Block 15 keeps going up after a sub-par start.

Bottle thanks to after4ever. Beautiful clear red/pink pour, off-pink bubbles, some lacing, good retention. That sounds too clinical -- this beer is pretty. Real pretty. Had this next to Queen Anne (okay, there may have been an imperial stout in between, but that was just my palate cleanser). This one is bursting with jammy fruit. Just as tart, with some nice earth and funk, but the fruit really shines here. Damn, this is nice too. I have to admit, I’ve been sort of lukewarm on the Block 15 sour side. I’ll go and grab a full allotment anytime I win the lottery, and I have a lot of respect for what they do and wish they were my local. But these two have won me over -- really loving this one. Side note: This beer works surprisingly well double-fisting with a boozy barrel-aged imperial stout.

Pours a bright red with no head and no lacing. Nose is of raspberries, light vinegar and wood/vegetal. Taste is of more wood/vegetal flavors with some vinegar and raspberries backed by an healthy amount of sweetness. Body is moderate, carbonation too and mouthfeel is vinous but the acetic acid gets a little burning after a while. A cool raspberry sour but it has some rough angles.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a cloudy ruby with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong berry, cherry skin, oak, funk. Thin body, tart berry, light acidity, really enjoyed this.

Bottle (500 ml), shared. Thanks to Lurkaholic for this one! Slightly hazy bright pale red with a small ring of white foam leaving little lacing. Aroma is of bright tart raspberries carried by acidic presence, with mild spiciness and leafy notes. Taste is of bright raspberries, oak, tingling acidity, mild spiciness and hints of herbal presence. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Acidic and fruity finish. Good raspberry sour that is a little to acidic to be drinkable aplenty but that is otherwise nicely fruity and complex. Fun barrel notes. Very good.
